FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Silicon Valley Nonprofits to Host “Rainbow Pride Dance: Dancing Through the Decades” in Celebration of Community, Belonging, and Joy

San Jose, CA – May 15, 2025 – The Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary (SVRR) and the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley (RCCSV) are proud to announce the Rainbow Pride Dance: Dancing Through the Decades — a joyful celebration of pride, music, and unity. This high-energy benefit dance will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Holiday Inn San Jose – Silicon Valley, 1350 N First St, San Jose, CA.

This action-packed evening kicks off with a dazzling drag show, followed by a night of decade-spanning music, dancing, a themed photo booth, silent auction, door prizes, delicious food, a no-host bar, and a lively costume contest featuring three prize categories for costumes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s.

Attendees are encouraged to don the attire of their favorite decade and bring their best dance moves to the floor. And if you don’t dance, come for the fabulous view!

Thanks to the generous support of Gold Sponsor State Farm (Steve Sosnowski, Agent), Pink Sponsor The PrintingWorks (Roark Clayton) and additional sponsors including Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center, Bay Area Pride, Renee J Designs (Renee Johnson), Marsala Law Firm (Jeannette Marsala), and Bard Williams, this celebration is made possible—but more sponsors are needed to help cover event costs and amplify community impact.

“This event isn’t just for the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Cheryl Lander, President of Silicon Valley Rainbow Rotary. “We welcome allies and neighbors to dance alongside us. Your presence sends a powerful message: we are stronger when we stand — and dance — together.”

“We’re throwing this dance to honor the joy of belonging and the power of community,” said Renee Johnson, President of the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce. “In a time when fear and division are far too common, we’re choosing love. We’re choosing celebration. We’re choosing to show up, joyfully and proudly, together.”
