FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RAINBOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SILICON VALLEY HONORED WITH SAN JOSE CITY COUNCIL PRIDE MONTH PROCLAMATION

SAN JOSE, CA — June 3, 2026 — The Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley was officially recognized by the San Jose City Council yesterday with the city’s annual June LGBTQ+ Pride Month Proclamation. The prestigious ceremonial honor highlights the Chamber’s 25-year history of economic advocacy and its vital role in fostering an inclusive regional economy.

Presented during the June 2nd City Council legislative session, the proclamation was spearheaded by Vice Mayor Pam Foley, Councilmember Anthony Tordillos, and Councilmember Omar Torres. The ceremony coincided with San Jose’s annual tradition of raising the Pride flag at City Hall, signaling the official start of the city’s month-long celebration of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“Receiving this proclamation from the City of San Jose is a tremendous honor that validates the hard work of our members, corporate partners, and allies,” said Renee Johnson, Board President of the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley. “For over two decades, we have strived to build economic bridges and ensure LGBTQ+ businesses have a seat at the table. This recognition strengthens our commitment to driving diverse economic development across Silicon Valley.”

The San Jose City Council commended the Chamber for its ongoing dedication to creating equitable opportunities for LGBTQ+ professionals and business owners. City leaders emphasized that the organization’s work is essential to maintaining a vibrant, inclusive local economy where all entrepreneurs can thrive.

This civic honor comes on the heels of the Chamber’s landmark 25th anniversary, which was also recently celebrated with a special commemorative proclamation from Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President Susan Ellenberg.
